Handsworth Woodhouse Methodist Church was born from the coming together of Handsworth and Trinity Woodhouse Methodist churches. We are a friendly and active church located on our two sites on Handsworth Road and Chapel Street Woodhouse.
We have an established history of serving the needs of the local communities in Handsworth and Woodhouse.
We are a Christian congregation that seeks to share God’s love with the people we meet. We believe that every person is loved and accepted in God’s eyes regardless of upbringing or ability. This, we believe, was lived out in Jesus Christ, who brought healing and wholeness to people, through forgiveness, integration and by challenging existing structures and habits.
As a church, we are followers of Jesus Christ and seek to encounter wholeness and liberation through him and with him. This is a lifelong process of exploration and we welcome people from all walks of life and at any point on their faith and life journey.
Our Girls’ and Boys’ Brigades are fun packed meetings for 5-18 year olds, and our Sunday worship is open to everyone. Check it out and see if the style suits you.
We also run a weekly Lego-club for primary school aged children and their parents/carers, and a monthly peer bereavement support group for those coping with loss.
Whatever it is that you are looking for, we hope that we can help you find it
You may be hoping to explore questions of faith and doubt, or find out what baptism is – for your child or yourself. In the Methodist Church, we baptise children and adults as a sign of God’s blessing on their lives and the promise of renewal and forgiveness for each day.
You may be looking for a safe place to meet, or you may be keen to try our tasty lunch at affordable prices or make friends and meet new people at our Saturday coffee mornings.
We believe that every person is made in God’s image and that all love is equal. This means that wedding services for mixed and same-sex couples can take place at our Handsworth site.
For questions regarding baptism and wedding arrangements, you can contact our minister, Rev Debora Marschner directly. Click here for contact details.
